In the Bachelor’s courses in Heat and Mass Transfer, Mechanical Process Engineering and Apparatus Engineering, students learn the tools needed to plan and design production plants. In apparatus engineering, this is done using the example of a brewery. In the Master’s subjects Processes in Mechanical Process Engineering, Air Quality and Computer Applications in Process Development, our students learn, for example, what makes a good chocolate, what process engineering has to do with climate protection and how to improve production processes so that as few resources and energy as possible are required.
In the Introduction to Sustainability Science course, students learn how to act responsibly as engineers, deal with ethical issues and develop concepts, such as how the public can be involved in major projects at an early stage in order to avoid conflicts later on. In our specialist laboratories, you can work with technical equipment yourself and, for example, encapsulate an orange flavoring, a product for the food industry.
